Unaware of the raging bushfires around the state, we battled the elements around Macquarie Uni - news reports spoke about wind gusts up to 100 km/h – the tree tops were swaying in different directions, the jet from the fountain watered half the course and the pond swallowed a dozen discs or so. As you can see I had to take a picture of just how windy it was, at least it wasnt raining! One of my overly optimistic drives were pushed down and made into a roller that made three 90 degrees turns; left, right, right pacman style. On the same hole, debutesse Rosie Suthers’s approach was a bit high and loose, landed and began to roll, turned around and rolled 15 metres backwards up the hill! |

Spring had sprung with blossoms & wattles everywhere but recent snow in the mountains & strong winds, 30 to 50 kph made for a chilly welcome to BSF 06. Thankfully the forecast rain missed the Woden area with only a few drops blown in during the day. The old layout was played for both rounds & no records were set. The most notable highlight of the day was a near ace by Christian on the 1st hole in the second round when his drive hit basket. |

The most important thing with a MADD MACQ’S is the date for the next one, something we usually decide on the spot or shortly afterwards after consultation with the Ultimate schedule. It’s not always it becomes common knowledge, though...
MADD MACQ’S 014 is Sunday the 24th of September just a few weeks ahead of our BIG weekend.
