The course is wonderfully maintained and is in a beautiful setting. It consists of 9 x Innova Pro Baskets and 9 x recycled rubber tee mats. For competitions, another 9 tees are set up to create the 18 hole course. The baskets are an Australian Made INNOVA Pro basket (under licence to INNOVA U.S). They are a single row 18 strand configuration and fully galvanised. The 9 hole course is just short of 1500 metres in length and with varying degrees of difficulty. The operators are open to catering for Schools, Businesses and Social Groups use of the course. Please contact Stuart Jones (see below) to make arrangements for group activities. | | | | | Directions | Take the Western Ring Rd. to Plenty Rd. exit, head north to Whittlesea, then east along the Yea Rd 2kms to a right onto Humevale Rd. 1km on the right is the Golf Club entrance. Or take a No 86 Tram from the Melb CBD to the Bundoora Campus, then a 562 Blue Bus to Humevale and the GC entrance. | | | | | Contacts | Proshop (Call to Organise Play) Phone: (03) 9716 2607 Stuart Jones (Owner and Operator) Phone: (03) 5441 6939 Paul Arden (Local Player Contact) Phone: 0417 015 793 Note: If you would like to arrange a lift to the course with some regular players who know the course well, please contact Paul Arden on the number above. Typically regular players are at the course 1-2 days a week and will be happy to show you around. | | | | | Notes | Dress Code: As with most commercial ball-golf courses a neat-casual dress code applies to the course, including Disc Golfers. Please check with the Proshop if you would like more specific details. If you use your common sense then you should have no problems. While there are several lakes on the course which are in play, the course regularly employs scuba divers to retrieve golf balls from the water. They often come up with lost discs as well, so if you put that brand spanking new GSO Quarter K in the drink, all hope is not lost. Be sure to write you names on discs so the Proshop can sort them out. Note that for competitions where dedicated course access has been given, alternative tees can be created to give an 18 hole course. The first such event was the highly successful Garden State Open in July 2005. These holes can only be played during official organised events and should not be attempted otherwise. Warning: As this course resides on a ball-golf course, players must take care and exercise caution, particularly when crossing fairways. Safer play is during late afternoon when most of the ball-golf players have moved onto their back-9. Please be courteous and patient with ball-golfers and ensure you give them right of way when possible. | | | | | Records | Previously rumored amongst locals to be about -5 to -6 for the front nine, Kurt Karlsson shattered the previous records rumored or otherwise during the 2005 Garden State Open. I understand that there were another two strokes to work with in that round, so we wait patiently for someone to score -11. We have not yet seen any women compete at Whittlesea to set a female course record. Front 9: Kurt Karlsson 26 (-9) Back 9: Kurt Karlsson 29 (-6) Competition 18: Kurt Karlsson 55 (-15) | | | | | Pictures | | | | | | Last Updated 11th November 2005 | |
