Australian Disc Golf is entirely run by volunteers. Every board member, state representative, and committee member gives their time because they love the sport. If you do too, there’s a place for you here, no matter your background or experience level.
All are welcome. We actively encourage nominations from people of diverse gender and cultural backgrounds. Whether you’ve been playing for decades or just got started, your perspective has value.

12

AGM each year
Positions are voted on and announced at the Annual General Meeting, held online in early December.
Available roles
Each year, all positions on the ADG Board, State Sub-Committee, and Tournament Sub-Committee are open for nomination. Here’s a summary of what each board role involves:
Chairperson
Public face of the organisation. Presides over meetings, coordinates the board, and holds the casting vote in a tie. Leads initiatives towards completion.
Deputy Chairperson
Supports the Chairperson and steps in to preside over meetings in their absence. Takes on full responsibilities if the Chair cannot continue until the next AGM.
Secretary
Coordinates correspondence, keeps minutes, and maintains records of policies and processes. Manages AGM communications and board change notifications.
Treasurer
Responsible for receipts and payments, accurate financial records, and presenting quarterly financial reports to the board.
Director of Competitions
Oversees the ADG Tour and events. Works with the tournament committee to coordinate the calendar, accept bids, register events, and maintain player records.
State Representative Liaison
Coordinates the state representative body, communicates board decisions to state reps, and brings feedback and suggestions back to the board.
Director of Communications
Coordinates ADG’s media approach, drafts key communications, manages social media channels and the website, and liaises with media producers.
General Board Member
Assists wherever needed to keep board activities running smoothly. Up to 2 General Board Members are elected each year.
There are also positions on the Tournament Sub-Committee and State Sub-Committee – these are great entry points if you want to contribute in a more focused area without taking on a full board role.
How to nominate
From late October
Watch for the call for nominations
ADG sends a call for nominations to all members ahead of the AGM. Keep an eye on your inbox and the ADG website. The nomination period typically closes in mid-November.
Find a supporter
Your nomination needs to be supported by one other current ADG member. Think about who knows your commitment to the sport: a fellow club member, a regular event competitor, or anyone you’ve played with. Reach out and let them know you’re interested.
Fill in the nomination form
Submit the online nomination form before the deadline (usually mid-November). You’ll be asked for a few details about yourself, your supporter’s name, and the skill areas you can contribute.
Early December
Attend the AGM
The Annual General Meeting is held online in early December. Positions are voted on (where needed) and the new board is announced. All members are welcome to attend. It’s also a chance to hear the year in review and what’s planned ahead.
Hit the ground running
Successful nominees are welcomed onto the board or committee, and monthly online meetings begin. The existing team is always happy to help new members settle in.
