Safeguarding & Integrity

ADG is committed to making disc golf safe for everyone, particularly children and young people. This page brings together ADG’s safeguarding policies, Working With Children Check requirements, training obligations, and integrity framework in one place.

Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy

ADG’s Supplementary Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy sets out the specific standards that apply at ADG-sanctioned events involving players under 18. It covers parental consent, supervision, photography protocols, card assignment rules, and incident response. It is supplementary to the AFDA Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy.

Education & training

From 1 January 2026, all Tournament Directors and club Child Safety Delegates are required to complete the Sports Integrity Australia safeguarding e-learning module.

Required training: Log in to Sports Integrity Australia and complete the Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction Module. Email a screenshot of your completion to ADG’s Safeguarding Officer once done.

Working With Children Checks

Anyone in a position of authority over children at an ADG-sanctioned event (including Tournament Directors, assistant TDs, coaches, volunteers, and media) must hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) valid for the state or territory where the event is held.

Requirements, application links, and validity periods vary by state. Most volunteer WWCCs are free. The exceptions are WA, NT, and TAS, where a small fee applies.

Submitting your WWCC to ADG: All covered volunteers and staff must have their WWCC details lodged on the ADG National WWCC Register at least 48 hours before an event. Supply your full name, WWCC number, and a photo of your card or approval email to ADG’s Safeguarding Officer.

Code of Conduct

All participants in ADG-affiliated disc golf are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the ADG Respect Agreement, our code of conduct for players, officials, and clubs.

National Integrity Framework policies

ADG has adopted the Sports Integrity Australia National Integrity Framework (NIF) through its membership of AFDA. These policies apply to all participants and organisations engaged in disc golf activities in Australia.

Member Protection Policy Covers the rights of all participants to be treated with respect, and ADG’s obligations to protect members from harassment, discrimination, and abuse.
Complaints, Disputes & Discipline Policy The process for raising and resolving complaints within the NIF framework.
Improper Use of Drugs & Medicine Policy ADG’s obligations under the NIF regarding prohibited substances.
Competition Manipulation & Sports Gambling Policy Covers prohibited conduct related to match fixing and sports gambling.
