MADD MACQ’S 003 was so wet and ugly so it’s something we’d all rather forget. The only really good thing was the evidence of true dedication! The sun shone all day long during MADD MACQ’S 004 but nature also offered truly challenging wind conditions. The fountain sprayed almost horizontally at times – that’s how bad it was. With a little bit too much angle on the disc, just a tiny bit too high and maybe a notch too hard, you sent your 4-meter putt 20 meters away turning your potential 4 into a 7 in an instant.

MADD MACQS 002
Already more than 20 people have tried Macq’s course in tournament play and that after only two “real” events. The word is spreading and we are spreading the word – I don’t think we’ll be fewer in the future! This time the highlights were Uai’s thai food and the two Melbournians Ian Bycroft and Paul Arden honouring us by making the long flight just to play with us. We also had a clear blue sky, 20 degrees, model plane enthusiasts, falun gong practitioners and some sprinters. I can see a lot of improvement in technique even though it doesn’t always reflects in the scores (yet). Peter Stack and Roger Barnes improved the most. Given some time, we’ll see a certain breed of Macq-golfers, easily recognised by a fatalistic attitude towards the fate of putts and a severely delayed celebration for putts that actually stays in…
